How to use the multi-function sewing ruler?
To measure and draw perfectly straight lines
With its long straight edge, you can easily draw lines. The intermediate graduations also make it easy to draw parallel lines. The scale with the 0 mark in the middle allows you to easily measure, mark, and find the center between two points.
To measure curves
The entire curved section of the multi-functional sewing ruler is graduated in centimeter increments. This makes it easier to measure the length of a curve, for example, to estimate the length of bias tape. You can also use your measurements to enlarge an armhole, for instance, by as many centimeters as needed.
To create ergonomic curves
This multifunctional sewing ruler combines the advantages of a straight ruler and a French curve. By using the large outer curve and the smaller curves inside the handle, you can create all kinds of curves. The varying degrees of curvature allow you to replicate the contours of the human body, making it easy to create anatomical curves for necklines, hips, wrists, and more.
To add a seam allowance, even to a curve
The entire perimeter of the multi-function sewing ruler is marked with graduations that allow you to create a 5mm or 10mm seam allowance all around a pattern, even on curves. These same markings are also present around the handle, allowing you to make these cutting marks on all degrees of curvature.
Draw lines at 45° and mark a bias
By simply placing the marks forming a right angle on the straight grain of your fabric, you can create a 45° diagonal with the right edge of the ruler. This can be particularly useful for making bias tape.
Draw arcs and circles
The multi-functional sewing ruler can also be used as a compass. It features holes that allow you to either insert a point to act as a pivot or a pencil to draw the arc according to the desired radius. The different spacings allow you to draw circles of varying radii.
This multi-functional sewing ruler will be your ally for all your sewing projects. If you could only have one sewing ruler, this would be it! It's suitable for beginners as well as experienced sewers. Packed with numerous useful tools, it will always be readily available to assist you with your markings.
You can complete your marking kit with one of our water-soluble markers or chalk pencils . Finish your markings with clean cuts using our range of scissors ! If you're making your own bias tape, our bias tape tools will help you fold it perfectly for use.
