This upholstery needle is a round-pointed needle with a large eye. As its name suggests, it is ideal for sewing with upholstery wool yarn. It can also be used for sewing knitwear. They are also used on Aida cloth for canvas work or cross-stitch embroidery.

The numbering corresponds to the size of each of the hands, with No. 14 being the longest and thickest and No. 28 the shortest and thinnest in the series.

Numbers 22, 24 & 28 are very commonly used for cross stitch.
