Short needles for patchwork
Short needles with a slightly rounded eye are ideal for patchwork or fine stitches. Medium-length needles are ideal for quilting , a technique associated with patchwork ; they will make quilting easier, among other things.
The needle should not be long, as the technique differs from a standard stitch: the needle is pushed horizontally through the fabric with very short stitch intervals. These stitches are generally used on 100% cotton patchwork , but can be used on all fabrics by adjusting the needle size. They are usually used with quilting thread .
The numbering corresponds to the size of each of the sewing needles, with No. 3 being the longest and thickest and No. 12 the shortest and thinnest in the series.
